How We Got Started
In Kentucky, the horse capital of the world, most Thoroughbred horses wore brass nameplates on their halters. Once a horse was retired or crossed the rainbow bridge, the groom would take the nameplate from the halter and put it on their belt in remembrance of that beloved horse. This is how the tradition of the nameplate belt started.
We here at Fossil Creek Trading Company have gone one step further and began making high quality leather belts and adding the plates to them for the general public. We added to our product line with; leather key tags, checkbook covers, ranger belts, dog collars and tack always keeping in mind quality and comfort of both people and the animals that wear our leather.
We are also offering other products of quality as well as what we make in our shop. Come on in and look around.
